“Tell me you’re going to go on the Iron Shark with me. I promise not to talk about how the irons in our hotel rooms are by a brand called Shark, even if that is really funny to me for some reason...”
“I still have nightmares of throwing up after riding those tea-cup rides, so that’s kind of the last ride I want to go on right now. Can I instead interest you in riding the Sea Dragon with me?”
Hallie was more than a bit annoyed at the sudden rainfall ruining not only their welcome party, but her lovely night with Luca. Nevertheless, as she heard the beginnings of chaos, she went into full Leader Mode, and stood up on the nearest bench. For one so small, the woman had a powerful voice.
“Everyone, stay calm! You will not melt in the rain!” she shouted, but even as she did so, the rain came down harder. She could barely see the fast-moving people in front of her. “Find the head of your department and meet on the beach!”
It was then that she saw Kieran Sparrow, pass by, a terrifyingly dead expression in his eyes, as he walked, erily calmly, along the pier.
“Did... did you see that?” she asked, hopping off the bench.
“If I can convince you to ride the Iron Shark with me, I might consider giving you an autograph.”
“But if I throw up on you, I’m not legally responsible. It’s in my contract, you know.”
“Fuckin’ hell,” Emma squealed, running through the rain, “this dress is dry-clean-only!” She could barely see where she was running to, nor did she know what she was running from. She ended up at an old decrepit house, and her boyfriend was nowhere to be seen. She twirled around, searching for him in the crowd, feeling an all-too-familiar pain in he chest.
‘ --- -- - okay so look. too much creepiness is going on. i saw get out...someone is going to pop out of one of these doors and put us in the sunken place...we have to figure out how to get back to the set or something. ‘
“Sidney, we’ve been on the carousel four times in a row, I think we should go get you something to eat, don’t you think?” Hallie pleased. Sid made a face as though she were about to throw a tantrum but Hallie crouched down to her level (which didn’t take much). “We can go on the carousel on more time, after we get a hamburger, okay?” she smiled. Sidney smiled back, and Hallie stood up, looking to the person next to her.
“She is very good practice for diva actors.”
Kieran was aware of nothing. He knew this house. He’d known it for hundreds of years. But he was no longer himself. His eyes were dark and his skin was growing paler by the minute. And there was something... an anger he’d never experienced before, rising up in his chest.
“What the fuck are you looking at?” he shouted at the first person to make eye contact.
