I actually don't believe this bs for one sec. Season 6 practically ended w/ Damon promising to marry Elena one day. That interview was a pile of bs just for fanservice.

Yeah, my first thought was that it was fake, and made up by fans. But I saw it actually on website and wow Kevin are you all right xD I think he just said them so fans could blame universe for not so happy end for them.
