Evil Ivypool AU
so I’ve started thinking about an evil Ivypool au and I’m really into it, here’s some of the things that happen/I’ve changed in simple terms:
- ivypaw and dovepaw’s mentors are switched, so Ivypaw gets Lionblaze.
- lionblaze and cinderheart bond on the journey to the dam, and Cinderheart gets pregnant with Lionblaze’s kits shortly after they return.
- Ivypaw is very close to her Grandmother, Brightheart, who also gets to mentor Dovepaw after Cinderheart has to stay in the nursery.
- Ivypaw gets manipulated into the dark forest earlier than in canon, shortly after becoming an apprentice.
- Lionblaze attempts to protect Ivypaw by intruding her fight with Antpelt (that happens when she’s only 8 moons old), but his powers take over sending him into a blind rage (they affect him more in this au) and he brutally kills Ivypaw by mistake.
- Briarlight also gets manipulated into the dark forest, this time by Mapleshade, she can walk in the dark forest which is the main appeal for her, but after realizing the full extant of the dark forest, she happily becomes a spy for the three, filling Ivypool’s role in canon.
- Lionblaze, overcome with guilt, but not able to confess to Ivypaw’s murder to not interfere with the prophecy seeks out the memory of the only cat who could have understood, heading to the tunnels, but he finds something not quite what he was expecting.
- Hollyleaf agrees to return with him, but she’s not finished healing and is very distant and stand-offish to everyone except Lionblaze, she isn’t fully trusted by the clan and suspicion of her grows in the clan.
- Ivypaw doesn't know any starclan cats and already trusts Hawkfrost, especially now that Lionblaze (and in her eyes all of thunderclan and starclan) have betrayed her, so she voluntarily goes to the dark forest and acts as a spy for them, frequently entering Dovewing’s dreams to gain info, and taunting Lionblaze in his. She’s hidden from the trainees, to keep the living believing she went to starclan, except for Breezepelt, who’s bent on killing Lionblaze. Ivpaw’s connection with living thunderclan cats and undying loyalty to the dark forest causes her to rise up the ranks in the darkforest.
- this isn’t that important but since Leafpool’s secret was exposed she’s started a relationship with Mothwing, who supported her through her turmoil, it’s a secret, but many of their close friends and family are in on it, they can’t have kits, so no one takes much issue with them. Mothwing is one most suspicious of Hollyleaf, while Leafpool wants to believe she’s changed.
- Ivypaw still hates Blossomfall for bullying her while she was alive, and she expresses it to the other dark forest cats insisting that her high rank may cause Blossomfall to be unloyal to the dark forest, this makes the dark forest cats harder on her, eventually killing her during a training session, sparking an un-expected guilt in Ivypaw.
- Mapleshade questions Ivypaw’s loyalty insisting that she’s only a niave kit and her trust could be easily won by the clans, she decides to test her by making her choose on thunderclan cat and watching her kill them. Ivypaw chooses Berrynose, who was her mentor during the journey to the dam, he would constantly knit-pick everything she did and one-up her, despite her only being an apprentice. Ivypaw coerces him into dark forest territory, where Mapleshade then kills him.
- Ashfur appears to Ivypaw on the outskirts of the dark forest, and does his best to earn her trust, Ivypaw is hesitant to trust a starclan cat, but after hearing ashfur’s story and the guilt he harbors she begins to relate to him. Ashfur’s done a lot of thinking in starclan and has worked hard to gain their trust, though he hasn’t gotten very far. He’s the only cat who tries to sympathize with Ivypaw.
There’s a lot more that happens, Lionblaze’s kits and Rosepetal are more important, but this is all I’m gonna share for now, shoot me an ask if you want more info or drawings surrounding this.
