North Family
Doc North grew up in a rich family where his parents expect him to become a renowned doctor or lawyer. Although he did end up studying medicine, he found his calling in free clinics and jail infirmaries, much to the annoyance of his parents. They continuously threw women at him who would fit his social standing but all of them balked when he mentioned he wanted a woman who would stay at home and raise their children. When visiting an orphanage run by nuns, he met Briar. She had be abandoned as a baby and raised in the orphanage. Many times people had wanted to adopt her, as she had an open and sunny nature, but she was also very naive and believed the world was only goodness. She needed protection and room to be herself without judgement. She had learned midwifery alongside the nuns from the convent and loved children, which was what drew Doc to her. Their age difference and her history made his parents incredibly mad, when he announced he wished to marry her. They disowned him, which did not much bother Doc. Deciding he and Briar needed a fresh start he joined the initiative to rebuild lost settlements and moved to Settler’s North. Now his joy way complete as Briar had given him his first child, Calla.
