Over the years, the South African government has remained a strong ally of Palestine, supporting its liberation cause.
The South African government has expressed concerns that Israel’s continued occupation of “significant portions of the West Bank” and the development of new settlements there “are glaring examples of violations of international law” as the longrunning Israel-Palestine conflict goes on.
Share. Reblog. Protest. Boycott.
A lot of people forget that boycott and sanctions helped rid South Africa of apartheid.
Late Iron Age Chainmail, Carlingwark Loch, Kelton, Dumfries Museum, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland
It is probable that this chainmail formed part of a hoard found in a large cauldron by two fishermen about a century ago.
The hoard consisted of native and Roman work, with much of the latter resembling that of Belgic colonists brought to the south east of England by the Romans. Settlers from the same area may have been introduced to Dumfries and Galloway to grow corn to feed the Roman troops.
The rest of the hoard gives a picture of a settled farming community which was well provided with tools, equipment and household furnishings, but which had little need for weapons.
@middleeasteye: Videos from the occupied West Bank showed settlers, protected by Israeli forces, stealing dozens of sheep and livestock from Palestinians during attacks on the villages of Abwein, Sinjil and Jiljilia, north of Ramallah.
A Palestinian child was killed and others were injured by Israeli gunfire during the attack on the village of Jiljilia.
We need a word for mansplaining but for when settlers/descendants of settlers try to explain what was colonialism “really like” to colonized people and their descendants.
Like why the fuck is that ford the past 2 days every pied noir grand child online is trying to explain to me AN ALGERIAN whose grandpa was born under the “code de l’indigénat” that the majority of pied noir were not colonizers and that a lot of them actually lived “like Algerians”. Like no. Just no.
Bitch think we’re in a Dr Quinn episode and we’re about to hold hands between the colonized and the colonizers?! If you listen to them their grandpa were all like Sully and it means they were not settlers but just like Algerians.
