how heartbreaking would it be to run into your husband and be excited to see him and then you realize... he doesn’t know you. you haven’t met in his timeline yet. and your diary, the one you keep of your time with him, is almost full. your time is almost up. just... i can’t imagine how terrifying and heartbreaking it would be to know you’re going to die soon and your husband is with you but he doesn’t know you or how much he loves and trusts you and how much you love and trust him.

me: i really hope the writers don't pull something out of their asses and bring river back. they really don't need to add anything else to her convoluted plot line.

Every once in a while, I'm minding my own business, maybe not even thinking about Doctor Who, and then my brain reminds me :

"A night on Darillium is 24 years. That's a nice long honeymoon... longer than I've been married... long enough to raise a family to adulthood. Do you think the Doctor and River got a chance to have a real life together on the slow path?"

Okay, can we talk about Tenrose v DoctorSong for a minute? So ten spends years with Rose, loving her from afar- never telling her his feelings or making anything permanent out of fear or some strange sense of duty against it. And then rose is taken from him, furthermore he has to watch another part of himself have a happily ever after with her. And he has to live with a further aching heart. So when River comes along, he literally watches her die for him. And so now he lives knowing exactly how much time he would have with her. So when he falls for her, he jumps in because he knows that he will have happiness with her- even if it's for a time. I feel like that makes it even more sad because he was finally able to love someone like he couldn't love Rose.
