Four years ago (almost), I went to my first Doctor Who con. Just for one day, alas, but still...walking in the door at @lidoctorwhocon felt a whole lot like finally finding my people. I absolutely loved seeing how clever people were with cosplay (there some seriously legit old-school Cybermen, for instance), the crowd was super-friendly, and then, of course, there were the guests. I’m here to tell you that hearing Jemma Redgrave talk about ubergeek Peter Capaldi pulling her aside to explain the significance of “Five Rounds Rapid” was worth the price of admission on its own—as was the chance to hear Paul McGann comment on Night of the Doctor in real time. But even without all that, it was the joyous celebration of something that has been such a positive influence on everyone in attendance that made that day what it was. I probably don’t need to tell you that this is the photo I mentioned in the first part of my conversation with Paul McGann. The rest of that interview comes your way on Wednesday!
