Declaring Tumblr bankruptcy because I’ve been away at the Gallifrey One con since last Wednesday, but anyway, I saw loads of friends and had the very best time, not in the least because I had a ticket to Jodie’s script reading.
She played Yaz. She played the Master. She did stage directions and sound effects. She was an absolute ray of sunshine here and in her two panels. But most important: she made Chris Chibnall come onstage and play the Dalek spy, and I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in a very long time.

The Interactions with Chris
The autograph was first. I felt myself getting jittery as soon as we lined up. Then I could see him. Then I somehow managed to stop psyching myself up.
So it's my turn. I had heard him say "Journalists lie, you do know that, right?" then bade the person farewell and as I walked up i said "Yeah trust me this is America we know they lie." So I put the Norfolk drawing in front of him and impressed both him and his handler. "Awh, it's Norfolk! Did you do this??" Yes sir I did. "You made my beard look better, thank you." A couple other compliments were made, the handler asks to take a picture of it after it's signed and share it on their social media (yes please!!!) and he signs my drawing. He turns to my coworker and says to me "Your mum?" Me: "No, shes my emotional support human, shes here to make sure I can talk because when I met you in England at Macbeth apparently I couldn't spell my own name." "Can I get one of those?" 😂 I show him my Roman numeral tattoo depicting the date of the play and he said "Oh, you came to see Macbeth?" Yep. Then I placed the drawing of him and his dad on the table and said something like "This is for you / I made this for you / something," and he opens his hands and says "Ohhhh. Taylor, that is beautiful!" And then he says this: "You captured my father's expression really well. He had dementia in this photograph, and you can tell because when a person has dementia, they're... less inhabited." (In reality I just can't quite nail the life of a person in the expression, but hey if he wants to think that, who am I to correct him?!) I said, "That's for you." "For me, to keep?" Yes sir. "Ahh, thank you. [Something like that.] You are *very* talented." I shake his hand. He says "Never stop going, never stop painting."
At the first photoshoot (non-green screen)
Pretty much short and sweet. I walk up and he says, "Ah, the artist returns!" 🥰🥰🥰🥰
At the green screen on Sunday
I walk up and hand him the banana, saying "I came prepared this time. You're gonna look confused, like 'how'd I get your screwdriver and you've got a banana'?" As soon as I said "confused" he snapped right into position and that's how I got that gem of a photo. I was able to give him a business card afterwards and then we did kinda play awkward hot potato with the banana, then the next person said "hey I'll use it" and there it went. Chris's handler approached me after I passed it off and said, "I am amazed with how relaxed you were just now, especially with how nervous you were yesterday!" (When my voice was shaky and I'm sure my hands were too). I gave her a business card as well "So you can properly find me on instagram when you tag the drawing."
Later on someone mentioned there was a banana on the table at the art auction and the current bid was $9. I wonder if it was my banana.
The VIP script reading
Didnt really get interaction per se, and the only thing that would have made the weekend better was if I had been chosen to read (because boy howdy would I have actually acted out the lines) and I was trying to get a clear visual through the audience on Chris and make him feel me staring at him. "Recognize me, man, I'm "The Artist"!" It didnt happen but the reading was still special. Yes, I was there when he was holding the baby! 😂 and we all said "Don't touch the baby!" together and then when "Rose" said "I cant do anything right can i?" Chris kinda paused and grinned like Oh jeez I don't wanna say this to this kind person!
EDIT: I remember now that he also joked "I'm lactating!" when he was holding the baby.. and later on the stage guy joked and said "yeah we gotta be careful otherwise you'll see 'Christopher Eccleston kills small child' *laughter* '...again.'" 😆
