A few weeks ago we made a trip down to Dayton to see my Wife’s Father, Bill. We hadn’t been able to visit since before the Pandemic started. Other than phone calls and FaceTime, that was the only way we had spent time with him. So it was a joy to be able to take our now 4 year old, Jaxon, down to see his Papaw. While there I realized I had never really taken a portrait of Bill. He had always been in the background of images but never been the actual focus of my attention, while creating images. So when he decided to get some work done in his Fly tying studio, I couldn’t resist. As I was looking through the viewfinder, it dawned on me that I was doing what I love, Creating Art,while he was doing what he loves, Tying Flies. It was truly a magical moment. I’m so happy I was finally able to create these images.
