I’m often asked who photographs my artworks, and how... I am the photographer! I like to photograph each piece on the wall, viewed from various angles, in my studio. It’s nice and bright in there, and so on sunnier days, I take photos of my paintings, installed there. The hope is that these photos will allow people to better imagine what my paintings might look like hanging in their own homes. In order to convey scale, one of the photos always has my little white chair in it, to act as a reference. After the photo session gets done, I bring my paintings over to the scanning room, where my Studio Manager, Maureen, scans each piece in, so that I can also get a nice high rez image that is square, and where the lighting is the same all over the piece. And that’s it. The photos are uploaded to my database, and the paintings are then put into storage until they find their forever home! 🧡❤️💗💜💙 #ClaireDesjardins #PhotographingArt #ArtStudio #ArtistLife #DocumentingArt (at Gore (Québec)) https://www.instagram.com/p/B42KNjNJjMX/?igshid=16weitlst7p22
