Watching season 9 for the first time (just finished 9.09) and I’m just really shocked that Dean never once stopped to think “Hey, if Cas couldn’t heal Sam during the trials, how come ‘Ezekiel’ says he can?” And then he never got suspicious (until it was too late) of how long it was taking, because ‘Ezekiel’ kept going “Just a little longer. Haha. Just a bit longer. Don’t worry. He’ll be fine. Just a liiittle longer. No worries!”

Because Castiel, before he had his grace and stuff taken away, said that Sam was damaged in ways he couldn’t repair. Surely Dean remembered that? And yes, while Cas held (the true) Ezekiel in high regards, he never told Dean that he was an angel of higher ranking. Because if he was an angel of higher power/ranking that would make sense for him to be able to heal Sam.

I’m not mad at Dean or anything, I know he made the decision in a panic and whatnot, it’s just odd to me that none of this ever really occurred to him once he was done freaking out.

Putting a stop here just in case, to avoid spoiling my friend further than he wants to be! (Yes, you)

Side note, I knew of Gadreel from posts I’ve seen, I just didn’t know it was this season that he was introduced, so I didn’t know ‘Ezekiel’ would turn out to be him. That was a really good plot twist. I’m loving this season so far!

Anyway, all of this raises a question; was Gadreel actually healing Sam at all, or was it just a ploy to stay in Sam’s body so he had free roam and stuff? Did he really want to help? Don’t answer this yourself if it’s revealed in the show lol. Too many times I’ve asked questions and then 5 minutes later in the episode it’s all explained to me.
