D O E S N'T T I M E F L Y ?

Your post from yesterday @sagestreet - the one about BOND and SPECTRE - inspired me to rewatch the movie. As SPECTRE isn't may favourite Bond film (Skyfall is) I saw it just one time before. I don't know how or if Bond survives that torture scene. But with Bond movies one shouldn't call reality into question too hard. They are known - and loved - for their fancy futuristic gadgets and their unbelievable action scenes. Therefore I didn't find that torture scene very much out of the ordinary at the time. On the second watch though ... I stumbled over several things that caught my attention immedeately. :))))
Spectre references in Sherlock
"A man lives inside his head. That's where the seat of his soul is." (Oberhauser/Blofeld)
MADLAINE: Why are you doing this?
OBERHAUSER: You probably know that James here lost his parents when he was young. But did you know that it was my father who helped him through this difficult time? Over the course of two winters he taught him to ski, and climb, and hunt. He soothed the wounds of the poor little blue-eyed orphan. Asked me to treat him as a brother. My little brother. They formed quite an attachment.
BOND: So, you killed him.
OBERHAUSER: Do those blue eyes still recognize you?
BOND: I'd recognize you anywhere. The watch. One minute. One minute.
OBERHAUSER: Did he say something?
OBERHAUSER: I can't hear you, James.
BOND: I said, doesn't time fly?
A lot of complicated family history between Bond and Oberhauser, it seems. Somehow 'orphan' and something that can only be called 'morderous jealousy' sounds rather familiar to me. :)

TEMPUS FUGIT ... DOESN'T TIME FLY ?
These two little words brought me immediately back to last spring, setlock and shooting for S4 .... when Arwel Wyn Jones decided to post this special clock.
TEMPUS FUGIT ... DOESN'T TIME FLY ?
SHERLOCK: I’m ... (he puts his hand to his face briefly) ... still catching up with my brain. It’s terribly fast. (TLD)
Tempus fugit - amor manet (time flies - love remains)

What a lovely coincidence. :) And one of the last quotes in SPECTRE - spoken by Oberlechner/Blofeld - is:
Brothers .... they always know which buttons to press.
I leave you to your own deductions.
