#fafnirinktober Day 7: • “Chaos! Within the bowels of the portal was a world unto its own. Before my eyes passed familiar objects, places, and people, but each was upside-down, inside-out, and all together backwards. I could’ve sworn that I was falling upwards! My wizard staff suddenly tumbled into view, and with a desperate lunge I snatched it out of the air. The moment that skin touched wood the portal world immediately dissipated, leaving me alone in a sudden freefall. • Soon I was met with hard earth and careened down a rocky hill. Dust curled around around me as I struggled to stand, indecisive if I was thankful that gravity had returned to normal. I was disheartened to find that the countryside had not done the same. • The entire landscape was unfamiliar; crumbling archways loomed over fractured crevices, and winged reptiles drunk from rainbow-colored streams. I gulped and gripped my staff tightly.
