The two dogs are back, but it is all very strange. At 11pm Mom called me to say the dogs were at HER house! They have never been to her house! NEVER! I live outside of town, she lives in it, and in between there is the four lane highway etc.
After hunting and deciding we might never see them again...they met her!
So off I rushed to get them with the pickup. Mom didn’t even have a leash at her house. They seemed delighted to see me and were fine for the ride.Once there it was a different story.
They did NOT want to go home! I had to carry the pup (and boy are they getting big now) but Hera pulled hard. To make matters worse, Zeus and the pups wanted to come out while I was trying force her in. By flashlight I’m trying to hold all these heads back and Mom isn’t jumping into it and can’t push Hera and...UGH! to It was a heck of a struggle. Hera seemed to prefer being strangled to being home!
I think I figured it out though. She is sick of her hyper four puppies! The lot is bigger than many home lots, with several dog houses, but the puppies just hang around her. Once back in the lot I heard her do something she’s never done before. She growled at them A serious angry growl. Any time one of the puppies got near her she growled! In the confusion Mom had lost her house key, so we hunted it up. with the flashlight. By the time we finished, Hera was back where they escaped before, digging!
I’ve put things to try to block her for tonight, but we may have a serious problem. I’ll have to figure something out.
Mom was angry and said if they do this again she thinks we should just let them go. That’s absurd. I pointed out the dogs found her and she said she could just pretend not to know them.
***sigh****
She won’t really do it, but she is telling me she doesn’t want to be bothered any more. So now it is up to me to find a way to deal with the dogs...Geez I hope Hera doesn’t dig out again tonight!
