Is it reasonable to try and stop your dogs from mounting each other? I understand it’s not sexual (and all three of my dogs are fixed anyway) and is only about dominance.
I think it’s generally a personal preference? But most dog owners I’ve seen on here that I admire for their training, care, etc. don’t allow it. It’s considered bad dog manners & can lead to spats between the dogs if the one being mounted takes offense. Even if your own dogs don’t care enough to escalate the issue, if they’re around other dogs at some point & decide to try it, it could lead to a fight with another dog that won’t stand for it. So I’d lean towards yes, it’s a good idea to discourage it.
