The Knight of Cups is a card about receiving good news, about comfort, about invitations and proposals that can pull you out of a tight spot. Together, the meaning of these cards is clear–things are finally about to start looking up! 

If you feel you’ve been stuck in a rut of compulsive, addictive, or self-defeating behavior lately, keep an eye out for new opportunities and invitations, as something this week may be just the ticket you need to break free–whether that’s a new job offer, or just an invite to spend time with friends you haven’t connected with in a while. Great things are on the horizon!

Weekly tarot reading: 6 of Wands (reversed) and The Star–a message about hope after a battle. 

The Star is a card that signifies great hope and goodness coming, especially after the chaos of the Tower. The Six of Wands reversed is also a conflict card (like the Tower) and, in this reading, stands in for that. You’ve been living with a huge disadvantage for a long time–likely due to toxic social relationships or personal health. This has led to what seems like failure after failure, let down after let down. 

The Star swoops in to say this is coming to an end. Your fate is shifting and you’re starting to move into an era of great freedom, self-empowerment, and spiritual alignment. Let go of the battles you know you can’t win, and find your strength within the losses and limitations life has handed you. Strength comes from accepting these realities, not trying to ignore and go beyond them. 

Keep this message in mind this week and beyond, as you move into a new year.

Can you do us a huge favor and share this post? It’s our announcement that the Barkana deck (and all prints, stickers, etc) will only be available for 27 more days. After December 31st, we’re closing up shop for good. 

As a disabled artist, my health has recently taken a turn for the worse and I can’t spend the time sharing this deck on social media, making regular shipments, and more. The Barkana has helped me gain financial stability (tough as a disabled person who can’t work a traditional job!)--so it would mean a ton if you could help support my continued self-sufficiency by sharing this project with those who might want to buy a deck before it’s off the market. 

It’s been a joy to create this project over the past five years. We’ve sent hundreds of decks around the world, and have only a couple hundred left–that we’d love to send to adoring homes before we close shop. 

We’re still donating 10% of profits to service dog organizations, providing advocacy for disabled folks, and creating lots of smiles with the cute dogs on these tarot cards.

When I started this project, I never expected to bond with so many dog journeys. So many families with beautiful tales of overcoming, of connection, and of loss. This project took almost five years to paint, and once the deck was complete I heard many people’s pups had passed on.

It means a lot to know I was able to immortalize their joy in this deck, and that’s the beauty of having painted all real dogs. It’s also tough, as there’s some sadness in knowing some of these pups are beyond the rainbow bridge.

Anyways, I just wanted to express how emotional this project has been. It’s a journey for us all–the pups, their families, and me as an artist. Thank you for being a part of this. <3
