Hi all! It's been a while but we wanted to share this, as the creator of the Barkana is one of the mods. :D We're super excited to be planning another Kickstarter, this time as a collaborative project focused on how queer people have existed throughout history. Please do share (and apply if you want)!
Thank you all for everything. Supporting this project has allowed me to make a move to protect my safety from my trafficker, has given me more freedom to actually take care of my chronic illness and prevent deterioration, and has raised a couple thousand dollars for service dog organizations and handlers.Ā

As this project comes to an end, I want to give you all a huge thank you for supporting me over these five years. This deck provided me financial security for the first time in my life (tough to get as a disabled person) and has been a part of helping me move to a new country.
By supporting this project, youāve made a huge difference in my life. Iām a disabled and trans survivor of traffickingāand was greatly impacted by that experience. Although Iāve been healing from my traumas for six years, and recovered from all psychiatric conditions, it took a great toll on my body, and that still sits with me. I have ME/CFS and non-epileptic seizures, which require me to pace my energy extremely carefully.
This is also why Iām closing down this project. My health took a downturn after catching the ācurrent plagueā and I have to moderate my energy more than ever. So I would be extremely grateful if you could help me clear the remaining inventory by sharing this project or buying a deck for personal use, a gift, or to keep as a limited edition collector's item!
I feel incredibly grateful for your support in last yearās Kickstarter, as we went past the needed funding, and that helps make this move a realityācombined with a few other factors. I bought one of these decks just this past week (I think?) and let me tell you, it came incredibly quickly, was packed well, and it's so gorgeous. I love every single card in this deck. If you're not into witchy stuff or that kind of thing, just know that this was awesome and supports great causes (a disabled artist AND service dogs).
If you are into witchy stuff, I'm very new to most things like tarot and the like. But this deck immediately connected with me and every single spread has been right on the money and caused a lot of introspection (which is the point, in my opinion). I could not be happier with my purchase and am sad the shop is closing but recommend it to absolutely everyone before they permanently close.

Only half a month left before the Barkana shop closes permanently! This means, after December 31st, we will no longer be selling the Barkana deck. If you want this limited edition tarot deck, now is the time to get it.
I know this might be sad, to see this project close down after five yearsāand Iām feeling it too! But health and immigration to Spain are both making it near impossible to continue in the new year. So, we made the tough decision to close our shop at the end of this month.

Happy birthday to our amazing service dog, Tali! Today marks her four years on this earth! The Barkana project is all about service dog advocacy and this pup has helped me so much with disabilities.
As a result of past trauma, I live with a seizure disorder, and she has a task to respond to those seizures. Sheāll provide (a very sharp elbowed š) deep pressure therapy that can help cut down the seizure spells from 45 minutes to about 5. Itās amazing.
Tali is a super twisty girl (like in the last photo where she's basically a donut) who can literally bite the very base of her tail (does she have bones?). Sheās wildly energetic at night and likes to leap from couch to couch (and sometimes the bed too). Beef liver and cucumbers are her favorite treats and baths are her biggest enemy.
Thank you all for supporting this project too. Without it, we never would have been able to afford her and her training. <3
