hey so! i live in one of the pet-friendly dorms on campus with my dog, and uh. I came home from classes today and that is Not my dog. He looks like my dog. He moves like my dog. He feels and smells like my dog and he even makes all the same noises. He acts like my dog- he was even sitting on the couch in his usual spot.
And, look- he's a Great Pyrenees, which is a very large boy if you don't know, so it would be kind of impractical to take him, but it isn't like they haven't taken odder things.
I have not made any agreements that would allow this nor have I pissed anyone off recently, to my knowledge, so I figure someone just saw my dog and decided he was too good to not want, which is understandable, I also adore him. I am not angry with whoever took him. And I KNOW there is no evidence that this is not my dog but, like, I know this is not my dog, okay. Sometimes you just know.
So, to get to the point: I would like my dog back. Again, I am not angry with whoever has taken him, I obviously understand the desire to have my dog. Whatever it is that has replaced him is also, as far as I can tell, a good boy, but it is not my dog and I would like my dog.
I would specifically like the safe return of my dog, unharmed and unchanged, no more and no less. Should the parties responsible for the unprovoked theft of my dog be unwilling to return what rightfully belongs with me, there is very little I will be unwilling to do to you to get him back. I am not angry. But if I have to take him back I will be.
(On a related note, if anyone with experience in these sorts of things could tell me what exactly my dog has been replaced with, I would appreciate it. It effects what I think should be done with it. If it is illusory, if it is an object enchanted to appear to be my dog, if it is a thing knowingly pretending to be my dog, etc.)
