Dens, nests, burrows or foxholes. Whatever you would like to call them these little things used as a safe place can relief some stress after a long day or just be a nice place to chill out in and meditate on things. The simplest den can be constructed in your bed by just draping your covers over yourself but I'm sure you're not here for basic so let's see some better ideas. To give you a rough idea of what goes into a good den for you beginners out there I will list what I have in my den to give you an idea. Currently I have a bunch of pillows to lay on, several quilts for comfort, my plushie, a few good books, a phone charger, a lamp, a few snacks, my chew toy and a few puzzles... although my den does take up three quarters of my room. But your own den can have as little or as much as you please, but remember that this is your place and you can put in whatever you need or want. #1 The storage hole Now the name might give this one away a little but it is pretty simple and effective. Put simply, just clear out an old wardrobe or cupboard if you are able to find one big enough for yourself and fill it with some quilts, a few good things like books and some detachable lights for your own little safe place. (Warnings) allot of wardrobes have simple plywood backs so allways make sure it if firmly against the wall, lest you come tumbling out like a split shopping bag. #2 The tent Another one gave away by the name. This idea is simple in design and build, just a tent really but to spice it up a bit... A tent inside! Although if you don't own a tent or know where to pick one up, a few simple posts and some bedsheets will suffice. If you are struggling to picture one, try looking up pictures of "Lean-to's" #3 The fort The den that everyone probably made as a kid, yes I'm talking about the might pillow fort! Sofa cushions are a good start for this den but normal pillows or simple throw pillows will work as well. Remember to build in corners of rooms for maximum stability. #4 The bolt hole This one can be a little tricky to set up but once it works, little else gets better. To start off simple, just place the base of your den in a corner and slowly begin to add layer after layer of things to cover it up like curtain until you can block off all light. One entrance that only you know about makes your thoughts relaxed so you don't have to worry about being disturbed. #5 The coffin A very easy one to make right here, just take a bath tub, layer down some quilts to protect against the cold and cover up the top with some thin fabric like a bedsheet. Just try to not accidentally kick the tap on! - Thanks for reading everyone but if you see anything that you would want more information on or see something that I might have missed please don't be afraid to say so. See you all next time!
