hey handsome tell me some facts about doggies - your wonderful husband <3
I was just about to post some dog facts!
The Tapetum Lucidum is the organ is dogs eyes that glows in the dark and allows them to see in low light.
Dogs are actually pretty near sighted and would need glasses if they were human, their motion sensitivity is nearly 10-20 times greater than humans though!
The reason dogs and cats open their mouths to smell something better is because the roof of the mouth is the location of the vomeronasal organ (or Jacobson's organ) which allows for better scent detection.
Additionally, there's a reason dogs noses are wet! The wet nose (Rhinarium) allows dogs to determine the direction a smell is coming from using air currents.
Last fact! Humans dedicate about 5% of their brains to smell while dogs brains are almost 33% dedicated to sniffing!!
Love you husband!
