🌾 them again, had some time to draw this morning. Working on doing things before shifts instead of puttering about waiting to get ready and leave, so this was actually very enjoyable :•]
I think in terms of their individual beliefs, Garden might be more of the quietly religious type, even if it conflicts with his sexuality in the eyes of the Church, and finds prayer soothing, so long as he isn't told what he's supposed to do during prayer. Guess what starts to stress him out.
Meanwhile Prim finds prayer exhausting and hard to navigate as an atheist. It's yet another set of rules to adhere to and try (and fail) not to fumble. She's not great at memorization and recital, so any texts or verse or whatnot is a point of contention for her.
Thankfully their scheduled prayer times allow them both some amount of privacy

🌾 now that book stuff's done after a lil' over a year or such we're kinda back in that limbo state where we can tinker at various little things without promise or urgency. Still too damn shy to get around to publishing the thing somewhere but we'll get there. anyway while Kell is busy with Curvor again, I'm stuffing my current troubles and woes in a new story/setting thing because I had a revelation at work today, and it slotted nicely in with some new-ish characters of mine so I wanna yap about Dogsteeth
(designs by donnyclaws, tweaked a bit for my style)
Basically these two were humans that committed crimes in the eyes of their society and got cursed with wolves' heads for it. (they're cynocephali). The only institution that was willing to "accept" them and allow them room and board in exchange for work was the church, but it of course is a hellhole. I'm thinking DT is about communication issues and the terrifying ordeal of scuffing up your regularly assigned duties because you've got disorders that no one else seems to have, except for one or two people at best. Hooray.
unsure about depicting realistic xtianity or just going with a fantasy thing. the focus isn't on religious trauma and I'm hardly well versed enough to portray the real life ins and outs properly... maybe some warped fictional fork of it, shrugs. Dogsteeth is one of those backburner things. if you have any questions about it throw them at me and I'll bite
