Guwon and Dohee were finally happily married. And with that came Guwon’s new obsession with everything couple. So one day while he was supposed to be doing work, he created a list of different dates and couples activities the two could do together. Some were really traditional dates for happy couples while others, not so much.
Guwon and Dohee signed up for a couples cooking class. The couples were tasked with learning how to bake a full cake and decorate it. The pair had decided on Guwon’s favorite, cream cake with strawberries. Of course the two were determined not to mess up. Especially after Dohee’s sugar and salt mix up that one time she tried to make him a cake. Well, Dohee was determined not to mess up. Guwon had other things on his mind.
“Pay attention,” Dohee scolded, moving her husband’s head that was busy looking at her to look at the pan in front of them, “you’re gonna burn our jam. Stop being so distracted.”
Guwon placed a kiss on Dohee’s cheek, “it’s hard to pay attention to the pan when you’re the only thing on my mind.”
At the same time, Dajeong and Bokgyo were taking the same class as their bosses, watching the pair while still making sure not to burn anything. The two smiled as they watched their bosses happily in love, even if they did argue a little which was much unlike how they were when the pair first met. They hoped the couple would always be this happy together.
Guwon and Dohee sat awkwardly in the therapist's office. Guwon thought that couple’s therapy would be a fun date idea because of the word couple. What he didn’t realize was that it wasn’t for happy couples like him and Dohee, but he paid a lot of money for this, so they had to do this.
“So, what kind of issues are you two having,” the therapist asked, ready to write down everything the couple said.
“None,” Guwon said cheerfully, looking lovingly at Dohee, “we’re as happy as we’ve ever been. I’m the luckiest being in the entire world.”
Dohee smiled as the demon confessed his feelings again. The therapist looked between the two of them confused out of his mind. “If you two are so happy, why are you here?”
“We saw the word couple and signed up,” he said with a nervous smile. Dohee raised an eyebrow at her husband. Was that really the reason? She didn’t need to ask, it was.
After 20 minutes of couples advice that they didn't need, the happily married couple left the building. “I can’t believe we actually paid for that. Hubby, just because it says "couple” doesn’t mean it’s for us.”
“I got excited. And it’s not my worst idea.” That was very wrong. He had great date ideas most of the time. Usually his date ideas were sweet like couples massages, a weekend retreat to Jeju Island, even the disastrous escape room date was not as bad as couples therapy.
Meanwhile, Dajeong and Bokgyo were exiting their own date at the bbq place next door when they see the two walking out of the therapist office. “Oh no,” they both say in unison.
Dajeong and Bokgyo sat four alleys down from their bosses, waiting to see what was going on with those two. The pair had followed them on six different dates. This was starting to frustrating them. One day, they were going to couples therapy. Next they were sending flowers to each other. Then arguing. It was getting on their nerves. So they got up.
“Another strike,” Dohee celebrated, hopping up and down excitedly.
“You do know I’m cheating for you right,” Guwon admitted getting up to grab his ball, “because we all know you hate losing.”
“Guwon,” she whined, “you can’t just do that. It’s cheating.”
“I know, but I’d rather see you smiling.”
Dohee wrapped her arms around her husband. Dajeong and Byokgyo stood up and stormed over. “What the heck is going on with you two,” the butler exclaimed as he reached their alley. Dohee and Guwon pulled away quickly, confused as to what was happening, “are you two happy or not because I am sick of trying to figure it out!”
“Why would you think we’re unhappy?”
“We saw you at couples therapy a few weeks ago,” the assistant admitted pointing at the two of them.
“Ohh,” Dohee exasperated, “Guwon signed up for it without thinking. We ended up just staying and getting date ideas.”
“So nothing is happening? You two are happy?” The butler and the assistant weren’t sure if they should feel relieved or stupid. The couple were known for doing odd things. I mean, he was a deal-making demon who was extremely in love after all. This should’ve been obvious.
“Yeah,” Guwon explained, putting Dohee closer, as she wrapped her arms around him. “We do fight sometimes, but nothing we can’t handle ourselves. He’s stuck with me and I’m stuck with him.”
The two let out an aww before leaving the happily married couple to continue their game. The other couple were happy to know that their bosses’ love wasn’t dwindling away. They could now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that they didn’t need to watch their bosses going out and focus on their own relationship. For Jeong Guwon and Do Dohee, they might have been an odd couple who’ve gone on a few odd dates, but at the end of the day, they loved each other more than anything.
