The Stranded and the Scaly
Chapter 3 Day 3: Why me?
2 days passed, and still no sign of any of his friends.
It was taking an awful long time for them to get here...
Maybe they really HAD forgotten him! Geoff began to shake at the thought. Would he be stuck here forever? Was he doomed to be a stranded man on a toxic island? Was this karma for his behaviour on the Aftermath Show? Man, he hoped not.
Geoff stood at the edge of the river in his boxers. While he didn't completely trust the water here, he had to clean himself one way or another. He put his hat down with the rest of his clothes and waded into the water, only to start shivering immediately due to the coolness of the water. He sighed, grabbed the small bottle of soap from his duffel bag and starting washing himself off.
Washing his hair was a bit tricky, and leaning over to thoroughly rinse it hurt his back. After getting out of the water and putting on a dry pair of boxers, he applied some deodorant and spritzed a bit of cologne on. Boy, was he happy that he overpacked! Finding a way to clean his favourite outfit would come later. For now, he wanted to explore the forest with his camera!
Geoff had to admit, the mutated animals provided him with some great photos, even though most of them were not friendly in the slightest.
He felt a bit off, though. Maybe he undercooked that fish from yesterday? That could be it, but it probably wasn't too serious. It would be kinda ironic if he got salmonella from salmon! He snickered to himself as he kept walking.
After a few hours, the walk got boring and the slightest bit breezy, so Geoff paused to grab a hoodie from his duffel bag.
The hoodie itself was pink like his signature shirt, and it had a warm, cozy scent. It smelled a bit like Bridgette, especially since she had worn it almost as much as he had. He nuzzled his cheek into the soft fabric as he put the hoodie on. There, that felt better..
He ended up continuing his walk until night fell, stopping to catch a fish along the way.
Geoff returned to his makeshift campsite just in time to cook the fish he had caught and get comfy in his sleeping bag. Well, as comfy as he could be.
As he drifted off to sleep, he watched the stars.
