Here are some headcannons.. If some sound way off canon, it’s because I have been characterising them differently ever since—my newer interpretation of many TD characters, especially Geoff, has become to be quite different..!
LONG thread, holy sheit. I tried not to talk too much if you have terrible attention span.
Headcannons
1. I like to think that Brody’s the more responsible partner in their relationship, he’s at least more grounded or he tries to be serious. Geoff on the other hand is always partying and slacking off. Sometimes it irritates Brody and he says Geoff should ‘lock the fuck in,’ and sometimes it influences Brody.
2. Geoff likes to get drunk, he enjoys alcohol and he often drinks such liquour from a bottle. Brody isn’t against being drunk, or the idea of drinking beer, but he’d rather just not because he dislikes the bitter taste. I like to imagine Brody lives off juice-boxes while Geoff drinks a full bottle next to him. Even as Brody’s older and Geoff can bring him to a bar, he’s either drinking juice or a glass of water.
3. Geoff and Brody have a loyalty difference. What I mean is, Brody could do anything for Geoff. He wants to. Unfortunately, Geoff is very self-preserving. He tries to hide this as much however. He feels guilty of having such trait and also thinks that he’s very undeserving of Brody’s love.
+ Not to each other, but, in their own relationships, Brody’s generally more loyal to his partners (I imagine he’s had a few, 2-3 partners because he knows how to spend a good few years. I know this is contradictory to canon which says he’s never had a girlfriend, or it did—didn’t watch the show for a long time, but it’s a HC. Okay.)
..while Geoff’s a little less loyal. He flips between partners a lot… (It’s like Geoff chases more dopamine, while Brody chases more affection from one faithful person.)
4. Brody isn’t badly affected by anything, and sometimes he has moments where he realises he doesn’t know what to feel. Anytime that happens though, he just looks at Geoff and follows his reaction. (Funny thing is, I got this from people telling me that the reason this ship sucked was because Brody felt like a dupe of Geoff. I tried to make it more ‘hurtful’ in a sense that Brody just absorbs any emotion strongest in the room and pretends he’s really feeling the emotion there.)*
5. Brody flusters Geoff more than Geoff does that to Brody. Sometimes it’s also just the smallest thing, or it’s not even in Brody’s intention to. Geoff just falls in love with anything Brody does, HA. Ha. I like to think about this a lot because I think it’s stupid if Geoff knows how to flirt and makeout so much, yet can’t counter Brody who has hardly any knowledge over relationships.
6. When Brody was watching the aftermath, I interpret he didn’t really care what Geoff did. Sure, he felt upset, but he kinda ignored it. Here’s my other headcannon that I think both are quite ignorant of their rude actions.
7. Geoff spoils Brody with his money. My headcannon, I think that Geoff in the future, takes up the job of being a show host again. I said this a few posts back! His show succeeds, he gets a lotta money. Brody doesn’t ask for much, often he asks for just console games and Geoff overpays him. He loves hiiiimm ^_^..
8. THIS point was hardest to write because it’s so corny to say, but I imagine Geoff’s very clingy. Geoff pulls Brody into cuddles more than often when they’re in bed. I imagine Geoff does it even when Brody’s occupied. (dude needs to stop being touch-starved. leave him alone geoffster!!)
9. They’re never jealous of each other, but when one really presses them, I think Geoff becomes possessive in response and Brody would get awkward. (Not to Geoff’s possessiveness, but Brody’s way of looking jealous. I guess Brody ‘tries’ to be okay with whatever Geoff does. As long as my partner’s happy kinda situation. >.>)
10. Brody’s a closeted gay man. Although I talked about him having a few partners, I add that in those relationships, it was two of them with a female, which Brody didn’t feel much substance with (but appreciated) and the third was with a male. He felt more comfortable in this one. When Geoff came into Brody’s life and they were getting closer, Brody just kept realising more of his …hhhhmm how much of a HOMO he was. Yes.
(⬇️ I had a different outcome for Geoff between the transition from TDA/TDWT -> TDRR.) As a fun bonus, I like to think this is how Geoff and Brody would become canon.
3. I might’ve mentioned this elsewhere but after the events of aftermath—where Geoff was acting a little toooo evil and wild as a host, many friends of him didn’t like or approve of his actions. So I also had a head canon that Geoff cares about image and enjoys being around a group of friends. When he realised his friends have started disliking him, he got really insecure on the inside and would always hesitate about ‘going too far’ the next time. As a result, he’s still cheerful as is in the later seasons (TDRR) but still somewhat gets worried because he doesn’t want to hurt another person again. But here comes Brody to the rescue. He’s never judged Geoff and he’d would always cheer or butter him up just to get Geoff’s self-esteem back. Geoff appreciates it, and in the process, I guess they fall in love like that!
*I was referencing point 4 to this stupid meme. This meme really reminds me of them.
Total drama Headcanon #2 - Geoff actually has a huge crush on Duncan to the point that when Geoff and Bridgette finally buy a house-the "guest room" is just Duncan's room that's lended out during the holidays (he lowkey has a bedroom at every killer bass' members home lol). Follow for more lol
