Buckle up kiddos because it’s time I showed you my quarantine obsession: 

So ‘Doing It Ourselves’ is a channel that shows what life at Chateau de la Basmaignee in north France is like and it just might be the very thing you have been looking for during these hard times. 

Basically, this family bought an old run-down chateau and have been restoring it step by step, they all live on the grounds as well & one of the brothers, Michael runs the YT channel. I came across this vid entirely by chance but now can’t get enough because watching is SUPER RElAXING & I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

Day 299, Never Ending

These home improvement projects are never ending. I realize now the bathrooms were easier because the end result was evident but what we’re doing now replacing floors, hanging sheetrock… spills over into other rooms and creates more chaos. Yesterday for Wayne to access the panel box he had to tear out the paneling which I did myself 🙂 so of course we hung sheetrock after that. I rearranged the…

Day 298, Not Quite Done Yet

Somehow our home improvement project has spilled over into the bedroom where half the wall is down waiting on sheetrock today. First Wayne has some wiring to do and then the sheetrock. Our bathroom was blocked by a desk, guitars and violins and a box of shoes so last night I got a wild hair to move that desk all the way into the bathroom. I’m not sure I like it. Day 282, Seeing Results

Finally we are seeing results of our hard days of working. The old never used dishwasher is out! The old terrible small fridge is out! The floor is down. The carpet roll Wayne had been saving is out! A major repair in the hall floor is out and ready for new flooring after some floor leveling has been poured at the back. Today is labs, Lowe’s and my brother’s place so I can resew something for…

Day 275, Where The Heart Is

On Thursday we will begin the task of pulling up old carpet and doing floor repairs before putting down new floor in the living room, kitchen and “mud room” which is in the plan. Day 28, Done! Well, Almost

Wayne finished up the plumbing on the hall bathroom yesterday so now we have two working toilets and two working bathroom sinks and a shower with water pressure and the kitchen sink with it’s new (yard sale treasure) faucet that you just touch to make it come on and turn off has water pressure too and cherry on the sundae, the washer machine works great too!
