Earlier this year I had gotten complacent and was in a rut from a health standpoint. While I went to the gym often and played touch and flag football multiple times a week I rarely pushed my self or felt challenged and it showed in my weight and energy level. At my heaviest I weighed 203lbs and while my friends told me I was "all muscle" or "athletic" I knew I was cheating myself. I ate out a lot at work (love me the Halal trucks), and when it came to cooking I typically stayed towards whatever was fastest and required the least amount of clean up (think frozen food or delivery.) Fast forward to a few days before my 35th birthday and I'm arguably in the best shape I've been in since college. This is 100% due to #jiujitsu and the amazing people at @rootsathletics @morgannfit @kylejitsplayer @herculevi @kristianwoodmansee And while being physically healthy is great, what I've loved most these last couple months is the beautiful thrill of learning something completely new and challenging and opening myself up to completely new culture and group of amazing people. #jiujitsu challenges me not only physically but also mentally. It forces me to step out of my comfort zone on a regular basis and learn something new everyday. #dojiujitsu #jiujitsumotivation #fairmount #stepoutofyourcomfortzone #jiujitsulifestyle #155Imcomingforyou #challenegeyourself
