okay im gonna try a method for a new leon doll. tits first lol. since the clay's heavy, im segmenting him. seen pro bjd makers do the whole sculpt, then cut at the joints. i'm going piece by piece again, but after they're baked, imma mold on, cut off, bake. it'll... make sense later.

kind of think recreating the coffee shop is a project i’d like to tackle

on the one hand, it’s the kind of thing i couldn’t really justify buying to myself as it feels very corporate, in that it’s very starbucks-ish without explicitly using the name, and none of my dolls/characters drink coffee because they’re all kids

but on the other hand, it does make me kind of nostalgic in the way it reminds me of campus coffee stands/snack carts, i kind of want to make it/have it

(sidenote: think of a fun lil coffee shop/stand name.)

this is definitely a big project to handle and atm i have no idea where to start, how to do this, how much work it will entail (although a lot i’m guessing) so if anyone has any suggestions or tips or advice, that would be very much appreciated!

Finally got some stuff for doll projects. I Got an older Disney Store Pocahontas doll to steal her hand and finally start finishing my Gwen Stacy Barbie.

Also bought another Disney Store doll to start a project i've kinda wanted to do for a wile. I Wanna do it with yarn, and I gotta find the right shade of white yarn for her:

Tidying

You know how you sometimes put something away too well and can’t find it again but when you finally do find it there is a logic to where you had put it?

Yeah so yesterday I didn’t get much done as I decided to go on a proper hunt for the pullip eyemech from @andersonsdollpurpose​ and the eyechip cabochons in the new size (13mm) which have been awol somewhere in this tiny bedroom for months now. They were in a box under my bed that was hard to get to and took some puzzle sliding level creativity to get to (I got so annoyed I dedided to scrap that system and work with something doesn’t require shuffling). That was, of course, the last place I looked but there was a shoebox full of pullip stuff! duh!

Here’s what treasures i found first:

Last christmas’ stocking stuffers from Granny: the lip balm and the rainbow earrings i’d love to repurpose into something I’ll actually wear, a washi tape of chibi Sakura characters from my sis from april, tiny stone glass findings I’d intended to use in a decoden dolly hairdo, two shiny flake filled hearts I’d like to put on hairclips. bits and pieces for doll necks/headbands/earrings. Not pictured: a small bag of braids made with the last of my kanekalon jumbo braid stock probably a decade ago. I was hoping to turn them into hairbands or hairclips of some kind. Also a bag of 5 Monster High vinyl scalps bought back when I thought I’d reroot some hard capped Create a Monsters (turns out I love my Gorgon, Witch and Seamonster bald)

I got sidetracked and did my end of year bank paper filing.

Then got sidetracked again and made doll earrings with those little faceted teardrops and more like them.

Then did cut my nails and redyed my eyelashes which was an incredibly stupid idea given that i had tremors all yesterday. It ended in henna tears of course and stained fingers hahaha.

Here are the cabochons on a piece of stiff glossy paper with “blythe eyes” from aliexpress vs my attempts with printer paper + sharpie on the left. Now that I have the eyemech out maybe I can finally get around to that small amount of modding with thermoplastic or epoxy to get the eyelids to work. maybe =)

I picked up a couple Snapstar Dolls back before I did my doll diet and because I mainly bought them with the intent of giving the Bratz heads, I waited until today to unbox them since I will have some free time to rebody this weekend...

Well... Yuki has stains all over her body from her clothes... The bodies are well articulated, but the her clothes are extra stainy. She had stains on her upper arms, calves and feet. Hopefully acne cleanser will do the trick. 🤞

Also, because the craft room doesn't get AC on a daily basis, the stickers no longer stay stuck to their phones...
