Doll posts are coming, truly, but first I gotta share this Goodwill find!

It was on sale for half off and after taxes and rounding up for charity it only cost $3. A couple things were written on and about half the stickers have been used, and the cartons could be reglued, but this is honestly in really good shape. The things with writing are labeled with a 2014/2015 "school year," so its prior owner is probably in high school or recently graduated. And it came with a mini copy of Meet Rebecca.

I'm thinking I might try to erase the pencil writing and hang onto this for Youngest when she's a little older.

Some interesting finds I picked up at my favorite thrift store recently! Molly's school desk in the middle, and on each end two of what I think are Samantha's school desk. I'm not sure about those two because the color isn't quite right--Samantha's desk should be made with darker colored wood. So either that changed at some point and lighter wood began to be used, or these are very convincing knockoffs. I can't find any Pleasant Company or American Girl stamps on either one. (Knockoffs of AG furniture are definitely out there--I own a couple of pieces).

Molly's desk is stamped "P.C." on the underside of the metal part of the chair, so that's genuine. It's missing the hinged top, but that should be easy to make a replacement.

Went shopping at Target today and decided to treat my dolls to a ton of new stuff!!!

To the left is the Our Generation “Off to School” set, to the right is the 1950′s “Retro Records” set, the badminton set, and a small keychain that looks like the perfect size for a doll backpack!

I’m super happy that the Our Generation dolls are the same size as American Girl dolls, since it really is a bit easier to buy doll furniture/accessories when they’re at Target prices.  I’m also hyped to open all of this! I wonder what my dolls will like the most 😃

Everyone is dressed in their best for their first day of the new school year!

Yesterday I showed you my historical characters in their spiffy school outfits. But my modern girls were looking awfully cute too on their first day back to school!  Leanne is bringing the vintage flair in her pink strawberry suspender skirt made by @doll-princesse and a collared blouse made by me. Willa is twinning with her older sister in a pleated suspender skirt and plaid shirt, both made by me. I made Sierra’s woodland animal corduroy jumper from a baby dress. Oldest sister Jo is wearing an Our Generation shirt and American Girl jeans.

I got my modern girls all dressed up for picture day and made them a school yearbook page. (✿◠‿◠)

To help my modern girls get ready for the new school year, I spent a few hours sewing up some new backpacks for them. I used the Urban Backpack pattern, which gave me the chance to use up smaller pieces of fabric and various iron-on patches. They are fully lined on the inside and are perfectly sized to carry doll-sized notebooks and textbooks!
