note that i see it in a totally nights-based kind of way (aka the lense through which i now view everything) but i feel like in the struggle for one L lawliet, private eye, if they ever ran into each other B would be so amused by aiber's over the top sleaze routine and aiber would just be like "wow it's like the discount version of L!" and they would bond over their mutual loathing of light and have shitty clandestine meetings at diners in the middle of the night where they have pie and insult each other uninvestedly for a while

How I feel about this character
i have ????? VARYING LEVELS OF FEELINGS. tbh i often don't have strong feelings about him but there are certain fics that make me ADORE HIM AND LOVE HIM AND WANT TO BE HIS BFF. he's got like .0005 canon personality so going from that i don't really care, i just think he's pretty and i like the aesthetics of cigarettes, but certain fic matts? I LOVE THEM. I LOVE.

My unpopular opinion about this character
unlike many people who like matt, i would not argue he is an !!!! important character. i mean every character is important to the plot in some way or another in as tightly knit a series as dn, but as far as it goes, matt ranks fairly low on the scale. he basically only exists so that mello isn't just explaining his plans to himself all the time (which would be admittedly funny)

How I feel about this character
HELL YEHAAAA. no but honestly i've been through a mess of emotions on the whole mihael keehl train. when i first read the manga i thought he was p much the best part of the second arc, but afterwards my interest in him kind of waned bc generally? i find most fic characterizations of him way too ARGHHHH ANGRY and nowhere near as serious or self-aware on intelligent as he actually canonically is (barring a few really great exceptions.) writing him, however (tho it's questionable how well i'm doing) has really opened him up as a character for me and made me love love love him once again

idk it just goes back to the !!! HE YELLS AND SWEARS A LOT THING !!! lie yeah he's got a hella commanding presence, and an array of varying facial expressions, but when he's actually mad he goes ice fucking cold imo
