Probably the most counterintuitive thing about dolphins is that often when they are looking their sweetest and happiest they are, in reality, being aggressive and are not very happy at all. The well-known and most poplular dolphin photos are those where the dolphin has an open mouth - it looks like it's laughing, doesn't it😍🥰? This gesture, however, indicates quite the opposite - with the dolphin trying to communicate that it does not find the situation amusing. In the clip below, the dolphin is showing various signs of aggression, such as an open mouth, inverted swimming, exaggerated movements and bubble bursts from its blowhole.
