My grandpapa used to always sit with his back to the wall before he had a wheelchair. He sat there so that he could keep his eye on the whole restaurant.
I think John might be a bit paranoid. Why would he sit facing this direction? He can see the whole of the restaurant if he was facing Sherlock...but this way he can also see the door. Also, sitting beside someone is awkward to talk, but sitting accross is so far away. Sitting adjacent is much better.
The six thatchers. Series 4. The fake series we call it. If we go by the John's tab theory... wait no that's only for tfp. Well then if we go by the emp theory (which is getting weaker the more time passes) then The Six Thatchers makes more sense. If this is happening in somebody's mind, idc who's, then TST could be a mental construct. John has a blog post that detailed some guy killing his boyfriend & hiding the murder weapon in a Thatcher bust, then going around smashing them to get it back.
The exact same thing happens in TST, the blog post and episode even have the same freaking name. It was posted during ASIB times. If this happens in Sherlock's mp, then it could be that he was reading John's blog (which he was) and he created the Ajay story while reading that post.
I'm just scrambling for sense. Why would mofftiss use the same trope, same bust, same title twice? It's way too similar. If they were both references to the same ACD canon, I could understand, but they're way too similar for that.
In ASIP

Ok so we know that John is mixed-handed (not to be confused with being ambidextrous), but he’d usually use his left for things like opening & unlocking doors.
since these keys are in the right hand, he’s wearing a nice coat, & he has keys to baker street, it must be Sherlock.

In THOB, gambling is mentioned twice. Once, at the start, when Sherlock offers to give John next week's lottery numbers, & then once when he "loses a bet" against John about whether the tour guide could prove he saw the hound. Once is chance, twice is coincidence, thrice is a pattern. I wouldn't place any merit on this thing I noticed until a third instance is mentioned.
When John first joins Sherlock by the fire he doesn't notice or at least doesn't acknowledge Sherlock's state, instead talking about Henry. If we assume Henry is a reflection of Sherlock, then you understand why this is relevant. John says Henry is in a bad state, which means Sherlock is too. Then he continues to talk about the case, possibly as an attempt to distract Sherlock from whatever is going on. Maybe John thinks it's cravings. Even when he squints at sherlock in his state, he stops and continues with the case, this time offering a simple solution to it. John is trying to help Henry's case but he's also trying to help Sherlock. Wow. This scene is so important.
Sherlock in s4: I'll buy you some chips. They're the only perk about being suicidal
Mycroft in s2: ah yes John and I go out for fish and chips every Wednesday
That was Mycrofts way of saying John was torn up over Sherlock's "death"
Ok so John hates his middle name. Why? It was his father's.
John had an abusive Father, & the fact that his middle name was his dads name, makes him despise it.
He didn't want Sherlock to even know it- Sherlock found out by stealing John's birth certificate.
When he said "John Hamish Watson" to Irene Adler & Sherlock, he was kind of passive aggressive. He didn't like the flirting going on, so he recommended a name he hated.
Idk I'm just speculating.
