A house is not a home
I'm honestly confused on something from Harry Potter and if anyone can explain or set me straight I'd love it. Isn't it said that Harry Potter is placed with the dursleys bc he needs a place he can call "home" to keep his mothers protection. And that's why he HAS to keep going back- so he still calls it home. But, if they had given him to someone else like Lupin or literally anyone else that raised his with actual love and care. I mean yes, family can mean literal blood relation, but it can also be people who support, love, and care for you. And yes a place you live is a house, but a home is a place you feel comfortable and welcome in.... right?? So why did he HAVE to live with the dursleys?? Someone help
