happy new year's eve imaginary constructs or the owls are not what they seem

yesterday i hung fallie's owl painting over my bed

last night i dreamt of leprechaun mascot become actual flesh and bone with oversized gelatinous eyes and coffee mug sized teeth, dressed as a cowboy, waving around an oversized six-shooter and projectile vomiting safety orange colored bile before passing out, crumpled in the kitchen doorway

i dreamt of attending a party where the attendees were all wrestling on dozens of oversized recliners in a room filled knee-deep with millions of chalky mint green bucatini sized snakes

i dreamt of crawling through polished glass ductwork and agreeing with my companions that this was no longer our preferred way to watch a movie

today i am taking a long ramble to a stretch of the river i haven't been to in years

tonight will be a night of quiet reflection

tomorrow, fallie and i will dawn hike stone mountain for our sixth new year's day in a row. this year finn is joining us

afterwards, we'll go to cassidy's house for coffee and apple fritters and fun
