Hi, as a San Diegan I don't have any winter stuff (nor are winter clothes really a thing in stores here) but would I be able to donate books, textbooks, or kids art supplies for a basket? I know it's not exactly -useful- but maybe fun.

Well, the winter stuff is pretty important—it gets really cold in St. Louis.  But if you make up a gift basket and mail it to me, I’ll contribute some gloves and scarves for you.  But absolutely!  Books, coloring books, crayons, toys, and of course soap, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste are important also.  

Remember, a lot of businesses have been burned down.  That puts a lot of parents out of work which means there might be tight Christmases this year.  That’s why the Ferguson Burger Bar is trying to get these gift baskets together.  

It’d be really cool if we could help them overreach their goal.  ^_^
