Within the mafia of the Barbosa Clan, Don Afons keeps a small cadre of closely trusted personal bodyguards to protect him and see to only the most important of assignments and they are as follows:
Bueyes acts as more traditional muscle and typically remains within the casino’s walls cracking heads of any trouble makers or drunks. Originally he was a member of the Irish mob but a failed attempt to move in on Barbosa turf left his squad a choice of joining them or returning to Ireland in a casket. A simple man impressed by strength, Bueyes opted to join Afons pledging himself and his strength to the family and despite his loyalty, Afons still holds a degree of mistrust for him due to his origins and thus is reluctant to have him perform missions on his own or under his leadership both out of fear of pocketing the profit himself, and of a lack of subtlety. As a result, he often goes overboard in an effort to prove his loyalty.
Serpe however was a member of the original Barbosa Clan being a simple soldati at the bottom of the ladder. In truth the young woman didn’t join voluntarily; her father had been a member imprisoned during a police raid and as is common place, she had to fulfill his obligations. A cold but proper woman, Serpe was generally unphased and truthfully found the mafia business of patrolling the city and shaking down thugs to be monotonous. More often than not she used her downtime to practice the fencing she had to give up following her induction which would become a skill her Capo would find a use for in the realm of interrogation using her pinpoint accuracy and lack of any concern or objections to force information out of victims. Post takeover, Afons continued to use her in this capacity but also recognized her loyalty in spite of the circumstances and made her one of his consigliere. Since then she’s been an integral part of the security detail at the Clan’s legitimate enterprises and is trusted enough to handle important meetings and business deals should Afons find himself preoccupied.
Lastly, unnaturally tall and hauntingly imposing, Buho is an older gentleman but one with years of experience in the Galician Clans as an assassin. He had started at the bottom as a teenager within the mob and slowly became more and more involved with the darker facets of their operation as he matured ultimately leading to his final role as an executioner being tasked with eliminating potential threats, traitors, and anyone involved including women and children. The sight of the long haired man with his massively wide brimmed hat became something of terror as locals knew what lied inside his suitcase was an old arquebuse that would ring out across Vigo. Following the relocation to Makina-Hiria in the East, Buho found himself killing more and more for the sake of consolidating drug monopoly as opposed to protecting the clan which gained his quiet ire. Needless to say, once Don Afons made his move to assassinate the elders, Buho simply let him pass.
One of the Barbosa Clan's debt collectors is in fact Don Afons' own niece! Sabela has been a delinquent for as long as anyone remembers so much so she got sent to a girls home by her parents hoping for her to shape up. However the angsty teen instead used her newfound lack of parental control to sneak out and explore the city's nightlife frequenting clubs and parties and developing an alcohol problem along the way among other things. Living life for excitement she hates monotony and boredom doing basically anything to stay entertained from picking fights to beating people with broken bottles and her continued substance abuse, Sabela simply couldn't find a steady stream of entertainment no matter what she did. She was so bored in fact she even attempted to be normal convincing herself that is was okay to lead an average life as a student.
Then her uncle happened along and offered a vent for her destructive aptitudes making her a security guard at his casino where she quickly showed her derangement by aggressively assaulting patrons for even minor infractions and displaying a talent to turn literally anything into a deadly weapon. Seeing potential and not wanting to cause anymore scenes, Afons made her one of his debt collectors and thus she found her true calling in life: assaulting random people for fun. She keeps hanging around her uncle's casino finding little interest in school or returning home happy with her plethora weapons she's just itching to try out.
