Akim is 12 years old, but despite such a young age, he never lacks courage and determination to support Ukraine 🇺🇦

Akim came to Portugal 🇵🇹 from Druzhkivka, Donetsk region, on April 14, 2022, with his mother Nataliia. He continues to study remotely in the 7th grade at a Ukrainian school. Druzhkivka has been suffering from Russia’s attacks for years, and in 2014, it was temporarily occupied for several months.

❤️‍🩹 Every Saturday, at the rallies in support of Ukraine, held at Rossio Square in Lisbon with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Portugal and the Ukrainian community, Akim declares poems about Ukraine – both his own and those of others who were also forced to leave Ukraine.

He saves part of his pocket money in a donation box, which is later sent to support Ukrainian defenders. One of Akim’s goals is to continue talking about Ukraine to everyone he meets, as he feels that “some have already forgotten about the war or don’t even know that it’s still going on.”

🇺🇦 Akim’s story is a testament to courage and resilience. We are proud of everyone who strengthens Ukraine’s voice abroad and continues to remind the world about the realities Ukrainians face and the crimes committed by Russia.

On Jan. 13, 2024, the Ukrainian Armed Forces‘ 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade released a video displaying a successful engagement with Russian forces in the Avdiivka area, Donetsk region. Ukrainian military personnel, operating a Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, effectively targeted and disabled a Russian T-90M ‚Proryv‘ (‚Breakthrough‘) tank. The 47th Mechanized Brigade disrupted the tank’s system, causing its turret to spin continuously. An FPV drone then delivered the final blow.

Contrary to Russian claims of the T-90M being the world’s premier tank, the actual battlefield scenario revealed a different reality. Despite Russian leaders praising the T-90M’s superiority, it suffered critical damage not from another tank but from an infantry fighting vehicle, showcasing the effectiveness of Western vehicles and the skill of the Ukrainian military.
