Question: why do people get mad when somebody calls them ugly? Like for real?! Be like "NO I AINT!" Lol. You can't tell somebody that their opinion of your outward appearance is wrong. Everybody has their own sense of beauty. Some people think Halle Berry is unattractive, while others think Wendy Williams is a "dime". It's all about your perspective. I joke about myself being "funny looking" all the time! Do I think I am? No. But if somebody came to me and said I'm ugly (and I've had it happen before) I'd be a fool to try and fight because I don't fit their view of what beauty/handsomeness is! Get some self-esteem about yourself and stop being so sensitive! #MyPerspective2 #Day8 November 8th, 2014: #LittleCousin- I can't mention one without the other because they've been side by side for the better part of their whole lives. These are my babies right here! To see these two grow up from diapers all the way up to high school graduates is mind blowing! These two make me feel like I'm old. Love these two right here. #MyPerspective2 #Day6 November 6, 2014: #Fear- 2Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by FAITH, not by sight". This verse is what got me to overcome many of my "fears". Fears are directly connected to the senses. Fears are a product of what you see with the eye, hear with the ear, and how you feel in your heart. And referring to the illustration, your fears (senses) are liars. Think about it: remember a time where your eyes lied to you? In a dark place someone looks beautiful in your eyes, but when those lights come on 😳. What about your ears? The sweet nothings someone tells you over and over, but treat you totally opposite? Your nose? Something being cooked may smell great, but you taste it and 🙊😷. Just as those senses lie to you, so do your fears. Your fears ever tell you you couldn't do something, so you never tried? Your fears ever tell you you weren't good enough, and you believed it? That is why it's important to find and walk by FAITH (that which you cannot see). Those same eyes that see a pretty face in darkness, your faith part (spirit) will tell you to stray away. Those sweet nothings you hear with those same ears, your spirit part will let you know it's not real. That same nose that smells the sweet fragrance of cooked food, your spirit will tell you to not take a single bite. Just as you may have believed those fears that you have physically seen, are you able to believe those things that you cannot see, but have FAITH they will come to pass? This is how you overcome your #Fears; when you truly believe and have #Faith! #MyPerspective2 #DonLowry #PhotoChallenge

#MyPerspective2 #Day5 November 5, 2014: #Family- It is said that "home is where the heart is". This can also be said for family. Family is connected by more than just blood and a "tree", but by those that you allow into your heart. Whether you're born into it (Nelson's and Byrd's), come into it (AOS Church/Body of Christ), or invited into it (Blair's amongst other friends and their families), however you slice it, family is what YOU make it! #DonLowry #MyPerspective2 #Family #Love #PhotoChallenge

#MyPerspective2 #Day4 November 4, 2014 #Barriers- Some of the most dangerous barriers are those without walls: our minds and that skin tone in the photo above. We mentally deny ourselves access and are unwelcome to certain places simply because our skin does not match that of "privilege". People say "race is no longer an issue", or "its only an issue if you MAKE it an issue", but who is the one that made the 1st black president an issue? Who argued that we only voted for him because he was black? Did those same people NOT vote for him because he WASNT white? Why is there such emphasis on 1st black this and 1st black that if there was not a barrier placed in front of us that we were not intended to get over in the first place? Neil Armstrong was deemed the 1st man on the moon, but Yuri Gagarin was the first "human being" in space. So why was Armstrong not deemed the first white American man in space? But Guion "Guy" Buford was surely labeled as the "first African American in space". Why the need for that added label? People of color are born with these barriers. But every "Barrier" has the potential to be busted down with the RIGHT effort and the right support and Faith! #MyPerspective2 #DonLowry #PhotoChallenge

#MyPerspective2 #Day3 November 3rd, 2014: #Energy- We're so worried about what that OPPD bill is going to be each month, but what about your LIFE bill? How much energy are you putting out on unnecessary things/people everyday? Every week? Every month? How high is your LIFE bill this month? Can you afford to put out that much #Energy? Or do you need to turn off a few switches in your life to conserve for a better time/purpose?! #MyPerspective Day 27: Crazy- I couldn't mention the word "crazy" without mentioning myself (in a good way), as you can see in the 1st picture. I am very spontaneous and I do/say some crazy/funny stuff from time to time. It's crazy that the young man in the second picture is no longer with us. He was the 1st major loss close to home in my life since I lost my Granny when I was in 2nd grade. By far the nicest guy I knew, and I miss that big smile of his. It's crazy that it's been 4 years since I've last been in a classroom. Most of those I went to school with are now graduated and doing beautiful things with their lives. But that drought will end this fall and I will be joining them as a college graduate! And lastly, it's CRAZY to see my transformation as a person from 2010 to now! From a confused, out of place, rebelling boy, to a responsible, honest, and loving young man. God did some major work on me, and I'm very grateful for all the changes in my life. #myperspectivephotochallenge #DonLowry #Crazy

#MyPerspective Day 26: T.V.-television was made for viewing entertainment from the comfort of your own home. Well I prefer to make the whole world my television. I watch my surroundings just as I would my favorite television programs. Look into my eyes and see what I see. Same principle as the technology of a TV. Use your God-given TV system, and minimize watching other people's dysfunctional lives on your flat screen. #myperspectivephotochallenge #DonLowry #EyeWatch
