It's hard to imagine for a number of reasons but I will say for sure that if Donna had been around when Del started dating Wayne (and also they never ran off to florida) they rarely would have gotten along

That is to say, getting along with someone and liking them, particularly in the context of a parental figure and a 16 year old boy, can be very different things!!! I don't think Wayne would really *like* Donna as a person, he's not a big fan of dishonesty and as much good as she's done for Del, she's not always the best parent and if there's ever a time she doesn't show up for her daughter, no matter the reason, Wayne remembers.

Donna's not 100% on Wayne either. Barring the fact that their personalities don't mesh, she's just not a fan of how violent he is. Which, yeah, bit hypocritical, but she sees Del as a really good kid who can't handle herself as well as Del actually can, so she just doesn't like the idea of her going out with some delinquent

but then again Wayne is kind of exactly literally everything Donna idealized in a boyfriend for Del. He's loyal, honest, treats her well, and is tough enough to take care of her. It takes a bit to really see, particularly because wayne can be easily misunderstood by a concerned parent, but she does come around on him, eventually. It helps that he's just consistently very good to Del and more or less respectful to her parents so long as they respect him back (mind you this is an alternate universe)

And Wayne in return warms to her and they manage to sometimes bond over their shared interest in a) Del and b) being complete and total fucking haters

anyways those are my thoughts im going to bed hopefully this was decent and ily so ooo much
