What about a Jacky and Hyde story where she tells him that she got pregnant. Maybe when they’re even a bit younger. In the middle of season 6. Hyde could deal with his issues about his parents & could express how scared he actually is of this situation. Maybe he would even deal with jealousy because he’s that paranoid. Maybe he would overthink this situation so much that he would even think about not him being the father and being mad. And Jacky would be heartbroken of course. Kinda interesting.
I don’t think Hyde would question if he’s the father or not, though. If he accused Jackie of sleeping with Kelso or a random guy ... well, bye, Hyde! But that’s not a Hyde I believe in.
He’d take full responsibility, sigh, and say, “Guess we’re gettin’ married,” and Jackie would say no.
Jackie: I don’t want you to propose to me this way -- because of this. [Points to her not-yet-showing belly.]
Hyde: But you’re havin’ my kid. What else am I supposed to do?
Jackie: Stay by my side while I’m pregnant. Wait until I’ve given birth. Then propose. I’m not getting married in a quickie wedding or when I’m fat because I’ve got a baby jutting out of my stomach.
Jackie: Steven, I want -- need -- to know that you’re with me because of me. Not out of some guilt-fueled obligation because your condom broke.
Hyde: Look, it’s not like I didn’t plan on bein’ with you for the long haul. This ... [gestures between himself and her stomach] just accelerated crap.
Jackie: So you think we’re crap?
Hyde: No, man! I use crap as another word for stuff, okay? It’s not a freakin’ judgment. Anyway, didn’t plan on having a kid this soon -- or ever -- but I did plan on bein’ with you. ... If there’s anyone I’d ever want to screw up a kid with, it’s you.
Jackie [touched]: Oh, Steven, that is so romantic!
