sonic questions 3,6,11?
3. How long have you been a Sonic fan?
HO BOY-- not counting the time I had a short-lived crush on Sonic when I was like... ten (IT WAS A WEIRD TIME), I'd say it's been about eleven or twelve years at this point? My sister and I would occasionally play Sonic 1 and Sonic 3 on the Genesis, but I don't think my love for the series fully materialized until we got SA2:B '^'a Once we got into the meat of the game (we had to play the first few levels REPEATEDLY since we didn't have a memory card at first), I really started getting drawn into the characters and their world and plot, and once we finally beat it (AND MY HEART BROKE INTO A MILLION PIECES BECAUSE SHADOW WHYYYYYY), I wanted to learn more about the universe and the people in it, so I started making dumb Sonic fancomics and fancharacters and poking around online, and buying the comics to get more ideas (THE FIRST ISSUE I EVER LOOKED THROUGH WAS 124 AND OH MY GOD THE COVER WEIRDED ME OUT SO BAD)
and then I eventually joined dA and lost three years of my life there
I kinda phased out of the fandom around... maaaaybe 2007 or 2008, because I didn't have systems to keep up with the games anymore (and I got interested in other things), though I did occasionally dip my toes back in, with cosplays and occasionally glancing at the comics
.......then Generations happened and I played it and I got punched in the face so hard and had to catch up with EVERYTHING and now here I am
tl;dr I'VE BEEN HERE A WHILE
6. Favourite game(s)?
IF I HAD TO PICK A FEW-- I'd definitely say the Sonic Adventure duology and Sonic Generations! The Sonic Adventure games, even though they aged kinda badly in terms of control and graphics, still hold a lot of nostalgia and charm for me, and it feels like the perfect marriage of gameplay and storytelling that a lot of the other games seem to lack, I think? Sonic Adventure is especially cute because of the music and the level design, plus being able to explore the hub worlds, and SA2 is just amazing because SO MUCH MORAL CONFLICT and Shadow and Rouge and THE MUSIC and even if the space levels came from Satan's closet himself IT'S STILL SO REPLAYABLE AND AWESOME
And Generations is probably the pinnacle of gameplay and level design for me, since everything is SUPER DETAILED AND GORGEOUS, and the levels are so much fun to play again and again even after you beat the game (well... the Modern levels, at least-- I disliked the classic ones sob), not to mention the loving restoration of old levels into something new and exciting and aaaaaa I love it so muuuuch ;-;
11. AoSTH, Satam or Sonic X?
Hmmm....HMMMMM. That's a tough one! They all have their charms and faults, so it's... kind of hard to decide on just one, ahaha ;v;a I think I'd have to go with Sonic X, though? Because any series that contains as much Knuckles/Rouge shipping bait as that does is a-okay in my book 'u' I mean, AoSTH is goofy and charming, and SatAM had an interesting premise, but... oh my god the backgrounds on AoSTH killed my eyes, and SCRATCH'S VOICE OH MY GOD NOOOOO Dx plus Antoine in SatAM was extremely irritating at times and it meandered a lot to pad things out, so yeah :C I mean, neither of them had Chris Thorndyke, which is a plus, but still
the quickest sketch of my new mayor, ceres! altair will be a zen/nature themed town, and i'm really excited for it. uou
muffy is literally always outside when it's raining i love her so much you can tell i don't draw backgrounds much whoops
