please bear in mind that we Struggled to remember what actually happens in these films:

princess and the pauper: isn’t there a whole subplot where erica has to pretend to be annalise? THAT’S what the kids call Ritual Substitution. especially if erica is a substitute for annalise in her role as Princess, which is basically the same thing as being a Sacred King and therefore Eminently Sacrificeable. thankfully the barbie films have levelled up to discover the secret solution to the mimetic crisis (being gay with your mimetic double...... rene girard voice Mimesis As Good? idk i havent read that far) and so instead of the protagonists Duelling they are In Love

island princess: the only part of this film i could remember was the bit where an evil lady bribes rats to frame barbie for introducing a plague to the country??? so basically, Barbie Gets Scapegoated, The Movie, with additionally Imagery Of Disease And Contagion...... mimetic contagion! also possibly at the end the character who Could have been barbie’s romantic rival reveals that she is just... not. which is like the disciple acknowledging that they can’t truly rival the model and so Just Not

diamond castle: once again there are Two protagonists (who i can’t. remember the names of) but instead of being rivals they are lesbians. there’s something with like a mirror that a good witch got imprisoned in by an evil witch? very mimetic of the evil witch to imprison her mimetic double inside a mirror, symbolising the symmetry between them. also i think at some point the two barbies have an Argument about the mirror/good witch inside it which is like i your glass will modestly discover to yourself the potential for mimetic conflict which is within you! also iirc the whole thing is actually a story told by og barbie to ?? someone. which means it is a Representation Of Events. and representing events is mimetic in that girard voice the original act of signification is the substitute victim. or like telling a story instead of it being real is sacrificial the same way greek tragedy is

princess and the popstar or whatever it was called: is this the one where the two summer camps have ritualised warfare a longstanding rivalry and then two(?) barbies make that Not happen by introducing nonviolent rituals. just like klaus. idk!

18. what animal would you keep as a pet, if you could?

OH. as I’ve never had a pet, I’m not even thinking about like, tigers or wolves or  sharks or anything unpractical. I’d have said a cat, because I love cats and I want a cat very badly, but you know what, if I’m allowed, I’d love to have a puppy. A nice smart fun puppy. I love aussies I really do, and if my lifestyle/every allowed me to have one, heck yeah I would.

20. do you believe in god(s)?

nah, I don’t. I think we haven’t yet understood everything about what makes the world what it is - both on big and small scale - but I don’t believe there’s any entity keeping an eye on everything. It’s all science! we’re not children of anything, with someone or something to clean up behind us and comfort us when we mess up. Life is beautiful, the world is beautiful, but we’re the only ones who can take care of it, no one else will do it for us.

37. what do you listen to music on?

Phone, 95% of the time. Spotify or Youtube, and that’s pretty much it. I still have CDs from uh before Spotify, that I listen to when I’m in a car that still has a CD slot, but the most recent one is I think from 2011.
