...so who sat on Lao Nie the whole time his son was being left in the saber tombs while still alive? Or tortured to get the saber spirit out? Lao Nie was in shock and in mourning about his son’s imminent death, and dying in the saber tombs is considered a privilege, not a punishment. but he disapproved very strongly of any attempt to torment NMJ to get the saber out - unfortunately, he can only be in so many places at once.

poor NMJ does in fact shrug it off a little, but he’s a little more cautious and a little less trusting of other members of his sect with things like, say, NHS’s well-being

Seriously, though, you’re right. And even action movies usually do a better job of justifying having a group of misfits. They’re all that’s left. They were shunted off to somewhere unimportant that became important. They’re self selected (ie: not government). They were sent to prison for a crime they didn’t commit, escaped from prison, and have become soldiers of fortune. (Okay, that’s The A-Team. The point still stands! They are not an official anything.)

The general idea of Wraith Squadron would work better pre-Endor. There’s a limit to how picky the Rebellion could be, and if most or all of the pilots came with their own ships (stolen when they defected from wherever they defected from), then, okay, maybe you put all the questionable people in one squadron so that they don’t mess things up for the non-questionable people, but that still leaves one with the “is that who you send on important missions?” problem. Okay, maybe if you have no choice because you’re still the desperate Rebels.

But post-Endor, when you’re trying to be a real government?

it’s a faction of people from the book of mormon. ‘anti’ was a personal name in the ~worldbuilding~. i always thought it was the dumbest fucking name for a faction because they were siding with the nephi and lehi faction.  this is not a thing that exists on tumblr.

Hippo took screenshots) who is down in the beast pits under the party hall, and her trainer is lamenting that she’s too unwell to go into the arena tonight. If you acquire the right combination of items, you can make a medicine for her, and she remembers you later during the anarchy, and she and three other dogs come to help you during the fight with the Rancor, and then they follow you for the rest of the chapter, right up until you jump in the shuttle to return to Odessen

I choose to believe that means they got in the shuttle with us and promptly ran outside to roll in the muddy field outside the hangar once we got back. They’re very happy on Odessen
