I don't believe banning guns is the answer and I don't believe waging more wars on oppressed minorities is the answer. We don't need to ban guns, how about just maybe not letting people who are on terrorist watch lists buy guns? Maybe that could be a giant red flag??? The reality is we could ban guns all we want but the only thing that is hurting is the the mass majority of the people. People who want to do these sort of things will still find a way to make it happen. Ever heard of blackmarket guns? Or buying the parts and building your own? What happens when the government decides to oppress you and start marshall law? "That's what the national guard/state militia is for!" WRONG. They are state run, therefore still government run. And do you really think for one second that if one or two states decided to defend themselves from federal troops that they would stand a chance of course not that's why the wouldn't do it if anything ever happened. So let me ask you this, if we had to fight for our families against a military superpower whether it was our own government or an invasion, would you feel better with a bolt action hunting rifle or an AR-15? Hmmm...
