In a way he regretted being the one of the only people to really see past Doc's stern exterior. Others might see a more caring side, hell if it existed but Harkness saw the destroyed man that had killed and survived doing terrible fucking things.
He would rather see that, it was better than this. The blank fake expressions put on to cover the fact that he was worried. Defeated. It didn't take an idiot to work out it collided with the same time as the vault dwellers disappearance. They hadn't exactly been friends so it had taken some time for Harkness to get news of the fact she had simply stopped existing. No one had seen her go. It took a little big longer until the news of her apparent death got to him while he was on the bridge.
When the figure had appeared in his vision years later, his system instantly recognised her although she had aged. Wasting no time he stormed down to her not allowing her near the ship. "Go to Megaton, now." He didn't know if she expected some big welcome back party but then again he wasn't giving her what she wanted, he was giving someone what they needed.
A clean slate.
That what most called it when they couldn't recall events prior. Nothing to recall, nothing to go back on, since she couldn't remember a single thing. It just seemed like yesterday she found herself in the middle of nowhere, on the ground with a pounding headache and nothing to go off of except her name, and the suit she wore, which she eventually rid of because it didn't seem relevant to her, or her safety in the wastes. Though, the haunting number of '101' stuck with her for a while, and she found it one of her smaller, short time goals to figure it out why did that three digit number seemed so important? Was it a code? Her 'number'? Whatever it was... It probably didn't matter as much as she though, because, if it was actually relevant, she would have remembered. That's the only conclusion she could come to when trying to recall the events of her past.
If it was important, she wouldn't had forgotten it. She didn't forget her name, she didn't forget her age, she didn't forget that she had a brother, a father, and a lover, those were all relevant to her life. Yet, she couldn't remember what her their names were, their faces, or why they were so relevant to her life. Wouldn't that be important as well? Or were the relationships flimsy? Thus why she couldn't remember how important they were? Just thinking about it now... made it seem like it was just... arbitrary to wonder about such things. What was the point of thinking about it if it wasn't coming to her? With that in mind, she went on five years on her own, drawing a blank about her past and just... leaving it as that. Five years of traveling without a thought in her head, and she preferred this life... It seemed, easier? She couldn't recall the right word for it. Oh well.
She found herself wandering back to the wastes where she originally found herself, DC as she recalled it, looking over the land with glossy eyes, as if she found drawn to the huge rig on the banks of the Potomac. It seemed familiar...
Though, the shock that came from the man barreling towards her, telling her- No, more like commanding her to head to somewhere else made her slightly scared. She didn't recall causing any trouble....
"... Uh... Sir..." She muttered quietly, afraid to look the man in the eye. "I... I don't know where that place is... I just saw this place and decided to head here first. I don't mean to cause any problems or anything..."
