Dishonored: Death of the Outsider Thoughts

Back when I played it for the first time, I used to think that there was more to Daud's plan than he let on. That he wasn't just out to kill the Outsider, but was content to let people/the cult think that and thus they wouldn't take him as seriously. Like "yeah, sure, you go and kill god, good luck with that".

He did want to end the Outsider, but the plan was never to kill him. Basically, in my mind I had a scene not unlike the actual end, with Billie confronting the Outsider and Daud there.

Outsider: So you finally managed it. Are you here to kill me then?

Daud: (fondly) You stupid boy. I didn't send Billie to kill you...but to save you.

I wanted Daud to continue on his path of atonement and his last/ultimate act would be to set his god free and show Billie that even after a lifetime of killing, he (and she) could choose to be better and save people.
