What I Take From Weredad
Marinette doesn’t like the fact that Chat seems to be “wishy-washy” about his love for Ladybug, since he showed up to Marinette’s after her declaration.
That bothers her, thinking he could change who he likes just because a girl says she likes him. She may think she doesn’t have feelings for him, but she got irritated/angry at the thought more than once in this episode. You don’t get upset about something unless you care.
Marinette gets to see just how loyal and devoted he is to Ladybug, so much so that he won’t be swayed by even her civilian self, she even tells him Ladybug’s lucky to have him. This will definitely help their relationship develop in the future. It also makes me curious at not only how Adrien will behave around Marinette, but also if Marinette were to ever confess, if he could take it seriously. I’m thinking Adrien will be the one to realize his feelings and finally say something to her.
Marinette learned that lying about feelings, no matter the reason, is a huge mistake and only results in trouble. Marinette hates lying, but even for a good cause it can have serious consequences.
Chat/Adrien, though he already has expressed this a few times, realizes just how wonderful and amazing Marinette is, and although he may not actually be in love with her, yet, he would risk his life for her in a heartbeat. You don’t fight that diligently for a “just a friend” unless you love them.
Chat finally got to really experience the warmth of a family and conversation over a meal, and wanted to prevent Marinette from ever experiencing the loneliness he feels.
This episode did a really good job at showing that you can love someone without knowing it yourself, or even having to say the words because actions say it all. Including Tom wanting to keep Marinette safe from heartbreak. Because he really loves her, he’ll let her be free to love who she wants and have faith she can take care of herself.
Throw in the overall cuteness of Marichat, the continuous irony whenever these two speak about one another, and Plagg and Tikki beginning to lose their patience just a little with their Charges because of said irony, this episode is definitely on my favorites list.
I also get a strong sense that this episode may foreshadow and will be quite important for future episodes.
