It’s desk tour time!!!
I just reorganized my desk, so I figured I would share what all is on it. I know it may look messy to some, but this is the setup that meets my needs and helps me get things done.
1: Left side of the shelf
a) my class notebooks that i got at muji. i have gridded for math and circuits, and lined for deaf literature and cell bio // b) my coloring books for when i want to chill with a mug of tea and some music // c) my writing journals. the marbled one has some random notes and poems in it. the royal blue leuchtturm is my journal devoted to planning a book and all the info i need for it // d) hand sanitizer from bath & body works (i have like 5 i rotate through) // e) my 2018 bujo. i keep it so i can easily reference past spreads for future layout ideas // f) an old mini happy planner filled with note paper and project planning paper. there’s a traveler’s notebook to the left of it that i haven’t found a use for yet // g) a sketchbook i hand-stitched with a pack of multimedia paper // h) some dice and a turtle wade tea figurine i got at a nearby vintage shop
2: Middle of the shelf
a) index cards and sticky notes i use in my journal the most // b) my most used washi - the rest of it has a different home // c) some gold and black star chunky glitter in a bottle because why not // d) my dedicated poetry journal that i carry on the go at all times // e) a worry stone, lapis lazuli sphere, and pink opal because they’re pretty and i want more stones // f) tiny hands that i use to scare my roommate // g) some mint lip balm from back home in texas
3: Right side of the shelf
a) this is where i keep all of my poetry books. my other books live elsewhere, but these get the shelf because they’re my favorites. from left to right, they are:
poems of the irish people - fall river press // selected poems of emily dickinson - fall river press // robert frost selected poems - fall river press // my kindle (honorable mention) // the sonnets and a lover’s complaint - shakespeare // good poems - ed. by garrison keillor // man up: reimagining modern manhood - carlos andrés gómez // w. h. auden selected poems - ed. by edward mendelson // neplanta: an anthology dedicated to queer poets of color - ed. by christopher soto // leaves of grass (150th anniversary ed.) - walt whitman // poems that make grown men cry - ed. by anthony and ben holden // date & time - phil kaye // the ecco anthology of international poetry - ed. by ilya kaminsky and susan harris
b) my glasses case with my second pair of glasses. my prescription didn’t change this year, so i switch between the two
4: Left side of the desk
a) my pencil mug (pencils i’m not using) // b) my jar of tombow dual brush pens // c) my gelato-container-turned-pen-cup // d) my mildliners (*heart eyes*) // e) a memo pad i made by cutting the front cover off a pocket notebook // f) my current bujo and the pen case i carry with me with my current supplies // g) my laptop
5: Right side of the desk
a) my favorite mug that i got at target // b) my sharpie cup // c) all of my stickers for my bujo in a plastice storage basket from target // d) my candy stash cuz i’m secretly a grandparent. the mini crate has atomic fireballs and cinnamon jolly ranchers // e) my watch and change dish i grabbed at goodwill // f) my catch-all tray. it holds the pencils/pens i’m using at my desk, white-out, portable battery, erasers, glue, chapstick, and wallet/key when i’m in my room
Well then!
That’s it. I know it was a long one, but it was fun. If you actually read everything, thanks. If you scrolled through, no biggy. I’ll probably do some shelf area/pen case/backpack tours soonish but that won’t be for a bit. Hope y’all enjoyed!
