“Does it hurt when I touch it?”
“No.”
Because it doesn’t.
Being one of the most prominent figure in his own society made him strong--made him hard to break. What happened earlier was something uncalled for, sure, but it wasn’t enough to break the walls that he built all his life to protect the same figure that he had been keeping against himself. Dune was there, and he witnessed how things progressed from seeing things that he shouldn’t have; Joonmyeon had the decency of composing himself at times when he thinks he shouldn’t, but Suho can’t be shown at times where he knew that mortals like Dune and the others would see the true side of him that he couldn’t let anything touch.
He was stabbed on his side, the pool of blood that drenched his plaid shirt was the indication that he had been severely wounded but it’s nothing to him, although the color of his blood deceives that he needs more than just that--he’s been lacking blood over the past few days, and he needs it, before he loses himself.
“Just get over with it, son.” He remembers the first time that they had a playful talk about it, the first time they met. He called him Son, and the other tried to deceive him from stating that he never had a good communication with his own, so Joonmyeon tried not to fall for the trap, but they grew a personified friendship along the way, until he knew about Dune’s occupation that held them captive, for the very first time.
If he knew about Dune’s misfortune, he wouldn’t let the other do those mischief alone ( not when Joonmyeon could help the other ) but of course, who was he to stop Dune from haunting his dreams, and the money that he needs to survive? Their earlier experience was what draw him close to the edge, and there’s a few more strands before he loses himself and force the other to stop. Dune is taking a careful look on the wound that was the reason why they’re inside a small hub, whoever the owner is, they have to thank them sooner or later for keeping a medicine kit around the corner that they used over the course of the time that elapsed; Joonmyeon feels himself revived by the feeling of the anesthetic, but he needs to be sure that the other wouldn’t leave without him yet.
“Don’t go alone. You and I know you can’t handle those loan sharks by yourself, you need me more than anything, if I may say.”
