I’ve been reading up on Iannone and am intrigued by the content of her work, her interest in Buddhism, and this idea she’s exploring of devotion but also creating space to be self-empowered.

A quote about how her Buddhist practice influences her work:

“I could say, though, that my dharma experience has made me consciously aware of the process of creativity: for instance, when I’m working, how my mind is held empty of thoughts, at ease, and somehow the “answers,” one after another, arise.“

Dorothy Iannone's 'Story of Bern' facsimile edition is a staff pick for Women's History Month!⁠⠀ We ❤️ JRP|Editions' new facsimile edition of Iannone's infamous 1970 artist's book detailing the censorship she and her partner, Dieter Roth, experienced at a 1969 Kunsthalle Bern group exhibition curated by Harald Szeemann, who ultimately resigned over the issue.
