Can someone explain to me how its possible to spend any amount of time mourning a character of an AU of an AU of a Nintendo game series where the character isnt even canon....
Wars's death has been EATING ME AWAY since I finished reading This is an Adjuration. Everyone else's deaths have some sort of cinematic climax or a promise of some form of an "after" for them whereas he just... sacrifices himself and dies a mercy death at the hands of his progenitor surrounded by only some of his brothers who cant do anything to help despite being in a world of magic and healing potions and such. His tale is already so sad up until this point, with him being forced into the whole time travel bs RIGHT after the war ended, going back only for SEVEN years to have passed, is never again granted a real, good moment with ANYONE from his world after that insult from Zelda... the way that Zelda begs him to just talk to her and that its been FOURTY YEARS since that conversation means he never gets to go back and reclaim the time that passed after this quest was over too. Then there's a small blessing in the fact that Malon offers a place for him to go and maybe he does get a happy ending after all only for him to just... die. The Hero of Warriors breaths his last breath on a battlefield, how damn poetic.
